Though now I don't listen to Garth Brooks very often, when I do hear one of his songs (such as when I re-watched the This Is Garth Brooks special) the same feelings come flooding back. The musical vocabulary of his songs still speaks to the same parts of my psyche, conjuring vivid images of the past. Attempting to put these feelings into words and analyzing how simple sounds can convey so much, are the basic tenets of Gut Musicology.
